Welcome to The Bass Diaries

The Mission

To provide bassists with the most accurate, meticulously transcribed sheet music on the internet. I believe that learning a song shouldn’t involve fighting through messy, auto-generated tabs or guessing the fretboard positioning. My mission is simple: to save you from frustrating, inaccurate tabs and provide professional-grade transcriptions you can actually trust.

The Journey: From 1999 to The Bass Diaries

My musical journey began way back in 1999 when I was just eight years old. From the very beginning, the greatest joy I found in music was simply putting on my favorite records and figuring out how to play along with the bands I loved. For over a decade, I experienced that joy entirely through the lens of a guitar.

But on January 1st, 2013, I set a completely new challenge for myself: I decided to learn the bass guitar. What started that day as a personal challenge and a simple video project recording bass covers of my favourite bands has since evolved into a global hub for low-end players.

As my ear locked into the low end, my patience for bad sheet music disappeared. I was constantly frustrated by the lack of decent, accurate bass tabs for the songs I actually wanted to learn. The internet was full of transcriptions that were either missing the nuance, ignoring the actual techniques used, or just completely wrong.

So, I stopped looking and started transcribing them myself. For the first two years, these were just for my own personal practice sessions as I mastered the instrument. But by 2015, I realized that if I was spending hours trying to find the perfect pocket on these tracks, other bassists were probably doing the same thing. I started uploading my personal collection online, and the response made one thing very clear: bassists were hungry for transcriptions they could actually trust. Since then, my tabs have helped over 170,000 musicians worldwide learn their favorite songs—and we are just getting started.

Why Trust These Tabs?

Every transcription in this library is crafted entirely by ear, tested on the instrument, and designed to give you the exact session notes, tone, and technique needed to play the track exactly as it was recorded.

🎼 Officially Published Author: Since 2020, I have been an officially licensed sheet music creator, now with over 100 premium pieces published across Sheet Music Direct, Sheet Music Plus, MuseScore, and Musicnotes.

Top 100 Backing: I frequently find myself in the Top 100 users for some of the most consistently highest-rated tabs on Ultimate Guitar, holding a strict 4.8 out of 5-star average.
