January has claimed the life of yet another musician. Today, Jimmy Bain has passed away, aged 68. Perhaps best known for his work with Ronnie James Dio’s band Dio, he played bass and helped write several songs on Dio’s early albums from Holy Diver up to Dream Evil. He departed the band in 1990, but returned in 2000 to play on Magica and Killing the Dragon.
He also played and help write songs with several other artists including Rainbow, Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott, Gary Moore and Wild Horses.
