As The Bass Diaries approaches its 10-year website anniversary (and nearly 13 years since the project first began back in January 2013), I wanted to take a moment to celebrate some major milestones and share what’s coming next.

Over the past decade, this little bass project has grown into something far bigger than I ever expected, and it’s all thanks to the incredible community that supports, plays, shares, and enjoys the music.

So, here’s what we’re celebrating:

🎉 Over 200 Sales (221 and counting!) Across 22 Countries

The Bass Diaries has now reached bassists in 22 countries worldwide, with over 221 total sales across the catalogue.

That global reach means the world to me and it shows that bass players everywhere are finding value in the transcriptions, whether they’re learning their first riffs or adding new favourites to their repertoire.

🎉 5 Years of Official Bass Tabs & Sheet Music Availability

It’s also been five years since I first published bass tabs and sheet music for purchase, a journey that started with a handful of songs and has now expanded across multiple platforms:

Available for Purchase

Available for Streaming

The catalogue continues to grow steadily and I’m excited to announce that I’ll be releasing new sheet music and tabs much more frequently moving forward. Expect a mix of classic songs, modern tracks, and community requests.

🎉 10 Years of The Bass Diaries Website

This year marks 10 years of The Bass Diaries website, and we’re fast approaching 13 years of the overall project in January 2026. It’s been a long road from a simple idea to a fully-fledged bass learning hub.

To celebrate the milestone, I’m working on a major revamp of the entire website.

💻 Website Revamp: Easier Navigation, Better Artist Pages & More

Over the coming months, I’ll be updating:

  • Every artist page
  • Every song page
  • Category pages
  • Internal linking
  • Layout and readability

The goal is simple:
Make it easier for you to find the bass tabs, sheet music, and artist collections you want quickly.

This means:

  • More information on every page
  • Links to other songs by the same artist
  • Cleaner layouts
  • Improved search visibility
  • Better mobile experience

It will be a slow process (a decade of songs adds up!), but the end result will be worth it for everyone who uses the site.

🥇 Top 5 Most Popular Transcriptions

These are currently the most purchased songs across all platforms:

  1. Alice in Chains – Rooster
  2. Evanescence – Bring Me To Life
  3. Blur – Song 2
  4. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son
  5. The Darkness – I Believe in a Thing Called Love

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported these transcriptions. Seeing which songs resonate with you helps shape what I work on next.

🌟 Ultimate Guitar Highlights

Alongside the official sheet music platforms, The Bass Diaries has continued to grow on Ultimate Guitar, where I’ve been posting bass tabs for 10 years now too!

Some key milestones worth celebrating:

  • Over 160,000 total tab views
  • Reached Level 4 Tab Author status
  • Tabs consistently receive high ratings and positive feedback

Ultimate Guitar has always been a huge part of the bass community online, and it’s been amazing to see so many players enjoying and using the tabs I’ve shared there. Due to the extra time it takes to convert (manually) a tab from Guitar Pro to the format required for Ultimate Guitar, progress has slowed with uploading newer tabs to the website, but I may upload select transcriptions in future alongside the full catalogue on the official sheet music platforms.

👍 More Tabs & Sheet Music Coming Soon

One of my goals for the next year is to maintain a more frequent release schedule for new transcriptions of both classic tracks and modern favourites.

I’ll also continue expanding the catalogue available through official platforms (Sheet Music Plus, Sheet Music Direct, and streaming services), ensuring everything is properly licensed and professionally formatted.

If there’s a song you want to see added, the best place to request it is…

👥 Join the Community: The Bass Diaries Discord

I’ve officially launched a Bass Diaries Discord server where bassists can:

  • Hang out and chat
  • Ask gear or technique questions
  • Request new songs
  • Vote on the next transcriptions
  • Share covers
  • Talk all things bass

Join here: The Bass Diaries on Discord

This will be a great little community space I hope to grow, and I’d love to have you there.

🔎 Looking Ahead

The next chapter of The Bass Diaries is all about:

  • Growth
  • Better accessibility
  • Community involvement
  • More frequent transcriptions
  • And continuing to make high-quality bass sheet music available to players everywhere

Thank you for an amazing 10 years of this chapter of the project. Here’s to the next decade of bass.

If you’ve been part of this journey in any way: buying sheet music, visiting the site, sending feedback, or simply learning a song…THANK YOU! It truly means everything.

Keep on keeping on!
